Diversity
Philosophy
To
foster an environment that values cultures and lifestyles, the Student Centers
Student Employment Program is committed to actively combating bigotry, prejudice,
discrimination, harassment, or any other force that seeks to
suppress another individual or group of individuals. To this end, it is
the philosophy of the Student Centers Student Employment Program that staff
should not engage in any type of activity that colludes with or perpetuates
bigotry, prejudice, discrimination,
or harassment. Such activity includes, but is not limited to, the use of
jokes, insults, gossip, and nonexclusive language aimed at different cultures

Student
Management Team
The
team fosters student staff retention, ongoing leadership development among
the staff, student-to-student role
modeling and a growing interdependence with one another. In addition,
students develop a better understanding of and commitment to the Student
Centers' goals. The team also serves as a catalyst of students
who assist in directing facility services, organizes recreation activities
and socials, and assists in training development.
The STUDENT MANAGEMENT TEAM promotes
and consistently communicates the concepts of student involvement,
high expectations, and assessment and feedback. In the Student
Centers setting, the most pertinent of these concepts is involvement. The
more involved students are in the workplace, the more satisfied
they are,
which translates into higher retention.
