Position Description
TITLE: Assistant Operations Manager (SUB I or SUB II)

SUPERVISOR: Operations Manager (SUB I or SUB II)

STARTING RATE: $9.25 hr

POSITION SUMMARY: In addition to fulfilling the responsibilities of a Building Manager, this position assists in supervising the daily operations of the building. The Assistant Operations Manager is responsible for assisting with the building operations to include, but not limited to management, information distribution, hiring and training, responding to emergency calls, keeping supervisor abreast of all operational problems and other administrative activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1. Assist in hiring and training of all Building Managers along with on-going training of building managers.

2. Assist in maintaining inventory at the desk/office (i.e. pamphlets, schedules, forms).

3. Assist with ordering and picking-up supplies for Information Desk/responsible area as needed.

4. Inform supervisor of any operations related problems.

5. Responsible for daily deposits as required.

6. Responsible for maintaining adequate change levels for the change fund.

7. Responsible for coordinating and managing the lost and found process.

8. Responsible for assisting manager with staffing staff absences.

9. Maintain 10-15 hours in the capacity of a Building Manager.

10. Have weekly/bi-weekly meetings with Supervisor.

11. Attend Student Management Team meetings.

12. Serve on University and department committees as required.

13. Receive on-call emergency calls.

14. Complete other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

1. Ability to work independently and take initiative.

2. At least 1 academic semester of employment with Unions preferred.

3. Ability to carry out cash transactions.

4. Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds.

5. Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or preferably higher.

6. Be able to work during the summer months (May-August).
