Position Description
TITLE: Operations Manager (Game Room or Corner Pocket)

SUPERVISOR: Associate Director of Trainig and Programs

STARTING RATE: $10.50 hr 

POSITION SUMMARY: In addition to fulfilling the responsibilities of a Recreation Assistant, this position supervises the daily operations of the Game Room. The Operations Manager will be responsible for the supervision of the Recreation Assistants, Assistant Operations Manager, cash and refund accountability, maintaining all equipment and supplies, ordering and replenishing all equipment, keeping supervisor abreast of all Game Room related problems, and coordinating Game Room tournaments and promotion activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assist in hiring, training, and supervision of all staff. Responsible for on-going training, work performance, and evaluation of all staff.

2. Responsible for cash and cash refund accountability.

3. Maintain inventory at the desk (i.e. equipment/supplies, all forms used).

4. Order and pick-up supplies/equipment for Game Room/ Corner Pocket

5. Inspect all equipment frequently. Responsible for any maintenance which must occur with equipment.

6. Inform supervisor of any Game Room/Corner Pocket related problems.

7. Responsible for staffing the absences of Recreation Assistants.

8. Responsible for the scheduling of Recreation Assistants.

9. Responsible for assuring accuracy of time sheets and submitting for approval.

10. Assist in the planning, marketing and coordination of Game Room/Corner Pocket tournaments.

11. Maintain 10-15 hours in the capacity of a Recreation Assistant.

12. Have weekly/bi-weekly meetings with Supervisor.

13. Attend Student Management Team meetings.

14. Serve on University and department committees as required.

15. Receive on-call emergency calls.

16. Complete other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative.

2. At least 1 academic semester of employment with the Unions preferred.

3. Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds.

4. Ability to carry out cash transactions.

5. Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or preferably higher.

6. Be able to work during the summer months (May-August).
