Student Centers Celebrates Student Employees

George Mason University celebrated National Student Employment Week April 10 – 14, and Student Centers joined their University Life colleagues in thanking all on-campus student employees. Student Centers employs 50+ students every year across Mason campuses to fill a wide variety of positions, from event technicians and services concierges to marketing assistants and Corner Pocket staff and everything in between.

Last week, the Event Services division of Student Centers on the SciTech campuses hosted a kiosk in Bull Run Hall with plenty of goodies to give student employees. Over 40 student employees approached the kiosk within the very first hour.

Krisztina Roder, Event Services Supervisor at the SciTech Campus, worked the kiosk and said, “I hadn’t realized how many students are working on campus and taking classes at SciTech. It was good to see the crowd and brighten their day.” We also wish to thank SciTech-University Life, Mercer Library, Housing & Residence Life, and Career Services for providing donated give-aways and popcorn.

Check out the pictures below to see how the SciTech campus said thank-you to all student employees.

Everyone loves free giveaways, especially t-shirts!

Thank you cards are a great way to show student employees they’re appreciated!

Possibly the only thing better than free t-shirts is free food!

Student Centers on the Fairfax campus also took time to thank their employees. Kerry Longbottom, Administrative Coordinator for the main Student Centers office, held a kiosk last week with giveaways for student employees. She also brought in cookies for the student office assistants to enjoy. On Friday, the Corner Pocket hosted a student appreciation ice cream social with President Cabrera.

Are you a student employee? How were you thanked during National Student Employment Week?
