Inclement Weather Policy |
| Inclement Weather Plan In the event of inclement weather and the University cancels classes and closes offices, Student Centers will open recreational venues to provide services to the Mason community, along with dining venues in the residential communities. The purpose of this plan is to provide food and recreational services to the residential community with a reduced staff, minimize traffic to the campus, and manage the potential risk involved in inclement weather situations. In certain cases, the Johnson Center, Student Union I and/or The Hub may open and/or operate with limited staff, services, and hours. The full time staff members present during an inclement weather situation will be the designated Essential Employees. In the event that an emergency should occur when classes are NOT normally in session, such as during the semester break or spring break, the Student Centers will follow the University closing schedule, unless circumstances dictate otherwise. In any and all cases, the determined plan of action will be communicated. This policy is only in effect if the University cancels classes and closes offices. |
Inclement weather building hours when the University cancels classes and closes offices: |
Corner Pocket 2pm - 9pm, Monday - Sunday |
| Special Events Previously Scheduled |
| In most cases, all events will be canceled with the option to reschedule. However, every effort will be made to accommodate large events such as conferences that have been previously planned and have the potential to have major financial or public relation impact for the University. Each event will be considered on a case-by-case basis. |
