Kiosks and Tables

Picture of a Student KioskKiosks and Tables continue to be some of the most popular advertising opportunities in Student Centers. It’s not hard to see why! Kiosks allow members of your organization to interact directly with passersby. These Kiosks and Tables put a face on your organization, while providing optimum visibility.

Kiosks and Tables are located in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor locations around the Student Centers. Kiosks are located in the Johnson Center Atrium while Tables are available in the SUB I Patriots Lounge, the SUB I Quad Sidewalk, the JC East Plaza, The Mid Level of the HUB and the first floor of Southside.

Registered Student Organizations and Mason Departments can rent Kiosks and Tables for free. Not a Mason organization? Kiosks and Tables are still available for rent for a small fee to non-Mason organizations and businesses!

Banners 3-13 (4)Banners are an extremely valuable marketing option available through Student Centers. Each vinyl Banner is set in a prime location in the Johnson Center, SUB I, The Hub or Southside, where students, faculty and visitors to campus can see. Banners can promote a specific event, but often are used to promote an organization in general.

Mason Departments and Registered Student Organizations may reserve Banner spaces (due to limited number of spaces, non-Mason organizations and individuals are not able to reserve banner spaces).

Easels are commonly used on the day of an event or meeting to direct people to the appropriate space or venue.  With a little creativity, an Easel becomes a versatile canvas with which to advertise an event or organization! Easels can be setup in high traffic spaces in the Johnson Center, SUB I and The Hub. Mason Departments and Registered Student Organizations may reserve Easels to promote their organizations, events, or services (due to space limitations, non-Mason organizations and individuals are not able to reserve easels).

Lights, Camera, Action: Free Movies, Free Popcorn at the JC Cinema!

Panoramic shot of the JC ground floor shows the JC Cinema. Its that big yellow room with the movie stars inside.

If you are new on campus, you may be unaware of the movie theater on the ground floor of the Johnson Center. Known as the JC Cinema, it is located next to Starbucks coffee (which opened September 2) and is adjacent to the entrance to Dewberry Hall.

Here’s even better news for cash-strapped students: The JC Cinema screens movies completely free of charge for Mason students. The Cinema holds free screenings almost every week, Thursday through Sunday. The only thing you need is a Mason ID and you’re on your way to a night at the movies! Even better, the popcorn is free, too. This service is made possible by the Office of Student Involvement (OSI for short). OSI Films has brought movies like The Avengers, The Heat, Gravity, and Silver Linings Playbook to Mason’s campus for students.

Doors are open. Popcorn's fresh.

New movies premiere every Saturday night. Check the OSI Films website for what’s on this weekend.

Go catch a free a movie (or two) this weekend and visit the OSI Films website to see what other great movies are playing this semester. You can FOLLOW OSI Films on Twitter and LIKE them on Facebook to get the most current updates on what’s showing in the theater.

So go forth, finish your weekend project, and then watch some free movies!
